Oscar Todd Accident, Queensland Australia, Death: Condobolin, NSW Mourns The King’s School Graduate After North Queensland Accident

The King’s School community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Old Boy Oscar Todd (‘25), whose passing has left a profound void among students, staff, and all who knew him. On Saturday, April 4, Oscar suffered a serious injury while in North Queensland. Despite the tireless efforts of medical professionals, he sadly passed away on Monday, April 6, leaving behind a legacy of character, talent, and deep connection to his school community.

Oscar joined The King’s School in 2019 as a Year 6 student, part of the final cohort of Prep Boarders at Gowan Brae. From his earliest days, he quickly established himself as a valued and respected member of the community. Later moving to Macarthur Waddy in Year 8, Oscar’s leadership qualities continued to grow, culminating in his appointment as a House Monitor in his final year—a role that reflected the trust and admiration he earned from both peers and staff.

The Todd family’s ties to King’s run deep. Oscar followed in the footsteps of his older brother Louis (‘24), as well as his father, Roger (‘91), along with other extended family members who also share the school’s proud tradition. This strong connection made his presence at King’s even more meaningful and his loss even more deeply felt.

Oscar was a gifted young man whose talents spanned both the arts and athletics. A creative and imaginative visual artist, he expressed himself with passion and originality. On the sports field, he was equally impressive—representing the 4th XV in rugby and contributing to the 1st IV rowing crew at the Head of the River. He also served with distinction as a Staff Sergeant in the Cadet Corps Quartermaster Platoon.

Remembered for his warmth, humor, and steady nature, Oscar was a treasured friend and role model. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
