The Summit County community is mourning the loss of a 26-year-old man following a fatal motorcycle crash in the City of Green on the evening of April 7, 2026. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office reported that at approximately 7:10 p.m., emergency responders were called to South Arlington Road after a collision between a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle and a 2021 Ford Explorer.
According to officials, the Ford Explorer, traveling northbound, attempted to make a left turn into an apartment complex when it was struck on the passenger side by the southbound motorcycle. The impact ejected the rider from his motorcycle. Despite wearing a helmet and the prompt response of the Green Fire Department, the motorcyclist was transported to Summa Akron City Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead.
The driver of the Ford Explorer, who was unharmed, remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities. No other injuries were reported. The Summit Metro Crash Response Team is leading the ongoing investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
