New York, NY – It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of 12-year-old Mark Hlovatsky, who lost his life due to injuries sustained in a devastating car accident on March 28. What was meant to be a joyful family vacation to Florida turned into a heartbreaking tragedy, leaving family, friends, and the community in deep mourning.

Mark was a bright, energetic, and compassionate young boy whose presence brought joy to everyone around him. Known for his infectious smile, warm spirit, and love for life, Mark had a special ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. To honor Mark’s memory, a viewing will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gracepoint Gospel Fellowship, 384 New Hempstead Rd., New City, NY 10956. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM at the same location, celebrating Mark’s life, followed by a burial service at 4:00 PM at Holy Spirit Ukrainian Cemetery, 141 Sarah Wells Trail, Campbell Hall, NY 10916.

Family and friends wishing to send floral arrangements are asked to deliver them to Gracepoint Gospel Fellowship on Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM or on Saturday morning at 8:30 AM. By request, flowers in blue, yellow, and white are encouraged to honor Mark’s love for his Ukrainian heritage.
